The beads are threaded onto the chain rather than soldered to it, which is the whole point of this piece.

The chain is 6 mm, which reads as a man's chain rather than a fine one.
The gold is not a thin wash. It is an IP finish bonded to the steel, which is why it does not chip off an edge or wear pale at the clasp the way a plated chain does.
Stainless steel is the right metal underneath it: heavier and harder than silver, it does not tarnish in a drawer, and it goes in the shower and the sea without a thought.

Q: How many names can I have?
A: Between 1 and 10. Choose the number in the menu, then type the names in order.
Q: Can I add more beads later?
A: Yes, and that is what this necklace is for. Send me a message when you need another one, and I will engrave it to match and post it to you. You keep the same chain.
Q: Does the gold wear off?
A: No. It is an IP finish bonded into the surface of the steel, not a thin gold plating that sits on top, so it does not chip at the edges or go pale at the clasp.
Q: Is this solid gold?
A: No, and it is not sold as gold. The chain is stainless steel with a gold IP finish, which is why it costs what it does and why it survives the shower. Solid gold at 6 mm would be a different price entirely.
Q: Will it rust or turn green?
A: No. Stainless steel does not tarnish or react with skin. It is waterproof, so the shower, the pool and the sea are all fine.
Q: Is it heavy?
A: It has weight, which is the point of a 6 mm Cuban chain, but it is not uncomfortable. Stainless steel is lighter than solid silver at the same width.
Q: Which length should I choose?
A: 22 inches is the most common. Go to 20 if he wears a buttoned-up shirt, and to 24 if he wants it visible over a T-shirt.
Q: Can I put something other than names on the beads?
A: Yes. Initials, a short word or a date all fit. Send me a message first if it is longer than a name.
