The two names are not two separate charms hung side by side. They are cut from one sheet, joined through the heart, so the pendant cannot come apart and neither can the names.
It gets bought for couples, but just as often for two sisters, for a mother and a child, or for a best friend who has been there longer than most relationships.
Sterling silver is the base metal in all three finishes. The gold and rose gold versions are the same pendant with 24K gold or rose gold plating.
Choose the box chain for a cleaner, squarer line, or the rolo chain for a softer, rounded look. The pendant is the same either way.

MADE FOR TWO NAMES

Most personalized necklaces carry one name, and one name is about the person wearing it. Two names are about something between two people, which is harder to buy and better to receive.
The heart sits between them rather than beside them, so the pendant reads as one object and not as two charms that happen to share a chain.
GOOD TO KNOW

Q: How long can the names be?
A: Two names of up to about 10 letters each read well at this size. Longer names still work; the script simply gets finer. Send me a message first if either name is unusually long, and I will tell you honestly how it will look.
Q: Can I put words instead of names?
A: Yes. Mom and Dad, a nickname, or two short words all work the same way.
Q: Is the gold solid?
A: No. The base is 925 sterling silver in all three options, and the gold and rose gold are a plating over it. It is not sold as solid gold.
Q: What is the difference between the box chain and the rolo chain?
A: The box chain is made of square links and reads as a clean straight line. The rolo chain is made of round links and looks a little softer. Both are sterling silver, and both take the same pendant.
Q: Which length should I choose?
A: 18 inches is the usual adult choice. Go to 16 if you want it high at the base of the neck, and 20 or 22 if you want it visible over a top. 14 inches is a child size.
Q: Will the plating wear off?
A: Plating is a surface layer, and it wears off over years of daily contact, faster with perfume, chlorine and seawater. Take it off before swimming or showering, and it will keep its color much longer. Sterling silver has nothing to wear off and only needs an occasional polish.
