The letters are not soldered onto a backing plate.
They are cut as one continuous piece, so each capital carries the one beside it, and the whole name holds its shape without a frame around it.
That is why the outline of the plate follows your name instead of sitting inside a rectangle.
Solid 14K gold means the metal is gold all the way through, not a layer over silver or brass.
There is no plating to wear thin at the edges where a pendant rubs against clothing, and no base metal underneath to show through in a few years.
It can be worn every day, cleaned, and passed on.
Yellow gold gives a warm, traditional color.
White gold reads cooler and sits closer to silver while staying solid gold.

This is solid gold, so the price is based on weight.
Every letter you add is more gold in the plate.
A single initial uses the least, six letters the most, and the price moves one step at a time in between.
Nothing else changes: the same 14K gold, the same thickness, the same chain.

First choose the Number of Letters, then type the name in the personalization box.
The name must have exactly the number of letters you selected.
It is cut in capital letters, so it will appear in capitals whichever way you type it.
Example: WILLOW, six letters.
If the name is longer than six letters, a short form usually works well.
DANIEL for Danielle, MAGGIE for Margaret, ALEX for Alexander.
Please check the spelling before you order.
The plate is cut to the letters you send and cannot be changed afterward.

CHOOSING A LENGTH

14" sits high on the neck, close to the base of the throat.
16" sits at the collarbone, and this is the choice most people picture.
18" falls just below the collarbone, on the upper chest.
20" sits lower on the chest and layers well over a high neckline or a sweater.
If it is a gift and you are not sure, choose 18".

This one has no layer.
It is the same metal on the surface and at the core, which is why it costs what it costs and why it can still be worn in thirty years, or given to someone else then.

Q: Is the gold solid, or is it plated?
A: Solid. The pendant and the chain are both 14K gold throughout, with no plating and no base metal underneath.
Q: Why does the price change with the number of letters?
A: Solid gold is priced by weight, and each letter adds gold to the plate. A single initial is the lightest and six letters the heaviest.
Q: How many letters can I have?
A: Anything from a single initial up to six letters. Select the number first, then type the name.
Q: My name is longer than six letters. What can I do?
A: A short form is the usual answer, and it is often what the person is called anyway. DANIEL, MAGGIE, ALEX and SOPHIE all fit. A single initial also works.
Q: Will the gold wear off?
A: No. There is nothing to wear off. Solid gold can scratch or dull with wear, and a polish brings it back.
Q: What is the difference between 14K solid gold and gold filled?
A: Gold-filled is a thick gold layer bonded to a base metal. It is better than plating, but it is still a layer over something else. Solid 14K gold is gold all the way through.
Q: Can I have lowercase or script letters?
A: Not on this piece. It is cut in bold, block capitals, giving it a nameplate look.
Q: Can the chain be shortened or replaced later?
A: Yes. The pendant hangs from a standard 14K gold box chain, and any jeweler can adjust or replace it.
Q: Does it come with a gift box?
